Who:
Me, Stephen Jones. 27, married with child, Ph.D from FSU, MA from UNT, BA from TTU. Blackfeet. For an ASCII pic of me, view source. Cinematic predilections? Yes: 12 Monkeys; Henry Fool; Lost Highway; Trainspotting; Jakob's Ladder; Reservoir Dogs; Full Metal Jacket; Unforgiven; Usual Suspects; Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. And I don't know how many time I've seen Doc Hollywood, Leap of Faith and Quigley Down Under now.

What:
Cinemuck [SI-ne-muk] n. 1. the combination of popcorn, soda, and melted chocolate which covers the floors of movie theatres. 2. what remains when the movie's over. 3. adj. 'like stepping in a whole bucket of popcorn.'

When:
Launched (Friday) 17 September 1999; built for two or three weeks before that, though some of the reviews were already on file.

Where:
Lubbock Texas USA. As Cinemark is the only show in town, my default cineplex is Tinseltown.

Why:
Because in The Wall St. Journal Terry Teachout said that "a culture based on images is condemned to shallowness." I disagree.

How:
With lots of help, specifically from bratta.com, bosrup.com, and dansteinman/dynduo.com. Each of their scripts are in here. Too, the pop-up menus not made at webreference.com were made at jwp.bc.ca/saulm. Most of the image work was done with a trial version of Image-Ready; most of the coding was by hand, with a 32bit trial version of UltraEdit. The logos were all made at webgfx, then tweaked by Joe Ferrer of joeferrer.com. There's probably bits and pieces from javascript-source and dynamic-drive scattered in the code as well.
